VAST-trek

      The VAST-trek is a notebook PC-based video delivery system that transmits using low data rates. It is an economical solution for use in many fields such as news gathering, emergency management, government, and exploration. VAST-trek provides:

     Incorporating the Quality Motion™ video encoding algorithm, the VAST-trek features data transmission rates from 2.4Kbps to 512Kbps, making available reliable and economical transmission over the Inmarsat Mini-M terminal oreven the public switched telephone network (PSTN). Encoding rates from 28Kbps -1.0Mbps and encode modes are user selectable.

      Accepting NTSC, PAL, or SECAM video input, VAST-trek connects easily to a myriad of transmisison interfaces such as Mini-M, PSTN, GSM and other digital wireless phones. The ResumeFTP protocol ensures that in the event of a disconnection, only the undelivered portion of the file will be sent upon reconnection.

     The VAST-trek weighs only 4.5 pounds and features easy-to-use Windows® 98-based VAST-trek software in a standard notebook allowing the VAST-trek to double as the user’s primary PC.
